During the Sports Festival, held in Trento a comparison took place between golf, skiing, motors, sailing and industry as a driving force of sport in terms of environmental impact. Sports as useful tools for enhancing the territory.

The latest competitive successes of golf, with Francesco Molinari protagonist of the Ryder Cup 2018, with the silver medal of Alessia Nobilio in the Youth Olympic Games and after giving voice to the theme of social inclusion in the Italian Open Disabled (the Sanofi Genzyme Tournament held at the GOLF CLUB CREMA Resort) (SEE CARD) promote Italian golf that returns to be talked about as an eco-sustainable sport, already staple of the Project Ryder Cup 2022.
Gian Paolo Montali, Director General of the Ryder Cup 2022 in Italy, explained that in the “Ryder Cup” project sustainability was one of the fundamental aspects and through the “50 Ryder Compact Biogolf” initiative the Italian Golf Federation, with the collaboration of Institute for Sports Credit, Legambiente, FederParchi, Univerde Foundation and Golf Environment Organization (GEO), aiming to redevelop several disused areas in heavily degraded urban areas, has set itself the goal of creating about fifty multifunctional golf facilities with low environmental impact or nil.
The first examples in Italy are the Livorno Golf Club, the TORRENOVA GOLF CLUB of Porto Potenza Picena, Macerata (GO TO THE CARD) and the GOLF CLUB LE MINIERE of Cavriglia, Arezzo (GO TO THE CARD). In Livorno, in particular, thanks to the commitment of Andrea Scapuzzi, President of the Toscana FIG Regional Committee, we are proud to have transformed an abandoned area a stone’s throw from the sea into a sports facility open to the public “.
The Italian Golf Federation, in fact, has already dictated the main elements for the construction of an eco-sustainable golf course AT THIS LINK claiming that the golf facilities, if designed according to these principles, have the potential to rebuild and protect the environments. The FIG gives design indications for the enhancement of the territory from the early stages of construction, through studies of the climatic environment, landscape, wildlife and other, envolving all the professional skills necessary for the success of the project.
