How much does it cost to play golf?Is it difficult to learn?
Golf in Italy, some time ago, was practiced by a select few players, and had exorbitant costs for this reason. Is golfing expensive today?
The responsible Associations for sponsoring this sport both international (USGA) and national (FIG) say no and promote initiatives useful for the growth of the number of new player and / or members. We have noticed many offers in the international news (find out in our news) but we believe, unfortunately, that there is still much to do in Italy (see our forum).
It turns out, however, that there is a significant increase in the number of golfers and therefore, this greater influx of players, allows a reduction in costs, both in the expenses of clubs associations and in the equipment market, and we hope that it is useful to tempt many curious about this sport who want to have a look on this wonderful world to test their affinity with this sport.
Initial costs, golf lessons:
Use the promotion of FIG. 99 Euro to start playb golf with 16 hours of lessons to be held in 8 weeks, you will not have to pay anything else, in fact you will be given free use: – use of the equipment; – practice balls; – the possibility of attending the Club’s driving range also outside the group lessons and for a further month after the end of the course; – group lessons with a professional teacher. Did you understand that you like golf and you want to start playing ?: (from 100 euros per year, 20 euros if underage): Within one month of the end of the course, participants can decide whether to continue playing or not: if so, they will have the opportunity to choose between:
The association to one of the Golf Clubs of FIGwith prices starting from around 500 euros per year on promotional fields (less than 9 holes);
the Free membership that allows you to join the FIG with 100 euros per year (20 if underage). The primary difference between the two types of membership is the fact that with the registration to the club, the associate has promotions that allow associate to play in the field of the club in which he is registered for free (with promotions and / or discounts inbased on the chosen association), in contrast, with free membership, you must pay the full daily rates in all the courses in which you want to play.The daily fee (tax) costs today from around 20 Euro for 9 holes, and we must consider that a game / golf competition does not last less than 2 hours (the timing change according to the length of the course).
At this point we want to play golf and we need the equipment:
In official golf games, a maximum of 14 clubs are allowed to be carried in the bag. If you want to start playing you do not necessarily have to have all these sticks in the bag, you just have to have: – 3 irons (5-7-9 or 4-6-8); – 1 Sand wedge; – 1 Pitch wedge; – the Driver (not essential at the beginning) – the Putter.
COSTS OF CLUBS:
Considering to buy new staff ( used today, halves the prices of the new, and is taking a substantial slice of the market) to start, we would spend about 50 euros for a bag, about 150 euros for a driver, about 200 euros for a set of tools and about 50 euros for a Putter.
How should I dress on the golf course?
Clothing, I’m sure that except the shoes, useful to safeguard, the golf courses, which have prices starting at about 30 euros and the glove of around 15 euros (useful to hold firmly the golf club), all of which you need you can easily find it at home or in any shop, without necessarily going to specialized shops where you can go when, with the knowledge of this sport, you will have special needs.
Do I need other accessories? Certainly you need other small accessories, which help you to play, and you will see that when you want, you will have a wide selection of electronic and non-electronic accessories that will help you to play. To start you will need golf balls, a pitchfix and tee for a total cost of not more than 20 euros.
200 euros for first lessons and membership; About 450 euros for the equipment (considered the new one); About 45 euros for clothing; 20 euros for other accessories. With around 700 Euros, with new equipment included, the 16 hours of initial lessons and the annual membership, a figure comparable to any other sport with the obligation to purchase equipment (skiing, tennis, cycling, horseback riding, fencing, etc …)
CWhat else I have to pay?
If you are a Club member, except for the purchase of balls, you can usually play for free when you want in that course (clearly depends on the chosen options), in case you have chosen free membership you will have to pay whenever you decide to play ona course of your choice, with daily fees, which as mentioned above, start at € 20 for a game not less than 2/3 hours of duration.
